Title: QUALITY CONTROL AND PERFO ANCE EV ALUATION OF REFINERY PR DUCTS

Abstract: ABSTRACT The quality of AGO and DPK ohtained from Kaduna refmery and petrochemical company was analysed using data obtain Qver a period of two years. The analysis was found to fall within the standard specifications of American society of tests and measurements (ASTM) standards. The analysis was based on the determination of aniline point and using this to ohtain Diesel index from the expression giving by D.I = 141.5/density - 131.5/100 x aniline point. The diesel index obtain for AGO was found to be 45.79 and the smoke point of DPK was found to be 21.33. The performance evaluation is based on the aniline point values of AGO and smoke point ofDPK and were found to be satisfactory. In this regard, an heat exchanger was design to control the temperature of the product i.e DPK to required ambient temperature.
