Title: YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND FUNCTIONAL EDUCATION LITERACY ACQUISITION ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN NIGERIA

Abstract: This research work is looking at how youth entrepreneurship, functional literacy and youth acquisition programs will help the young adult to be selfreliant and self employed. The main objective of the study is to enable youth to be self-reliant through developmental programs such as seminars, conferences, vocational trainings, workshop etc. But then, some questions will have to be answered if these developmental programmes are to be actualized for youth development. These questions are; how can youth be helped to realize their entrepreneurial skills? What the level of entrepreneurship among the youth is? what the challenges encountered by the youth empowerment organizations are? And what the best means to empower the youth is? Chapter two of the study examines the literature related to this research. Some of the literature reviewed sees youth entrepreneurship as young adult using this process by working in a nonstructured and semi structured work environments. The concept of functional literacy was also seen as practical working oriented literacy. Acquisition of skills on the other hand was conceived as a lifelong continuous process that does not have an end. With the use of questionnaire as a research method, it was discovered that a great advancement in youth development was observed since Nigeria adopt democracy in 1999 till date which has contributed immensely to the Nigerian economy thanks to the contribution of some youth empowerment and skills acquisition organisation organizations for their relentless contribution.
