Title: KINETIC STUDY ONBIOCOMPATIBILITY OF TEFLON

Abstract: The use of implantable biomaterials has become an integral part of Meoical Surgery. Metals are used for fracture fixation devices, whereas polymers are used primarily for bone or soft-tissue substitution. This review of the scientific literature examines the risks and complications of these materials (polymers) through kinetic study cum biocompatibility. The kinetic study on Biocompatibility of Teflon was performed using the graphical and differential method of analyzing a rate - equation. At a higher concentration of about 0.032mol/dm3 of Teflon and organic acid or' base concentration of1.000mol/dm3 tHe rate of disappearance of Teflon is high with value of 5.55 x 103 mol/dm3 min but at same concentration of organic acid or base and lower concentration of the Teflon, the rate decreases rapidly. The rate of disappearance of Teflon for both reaction with water and organic acid or base where derived to be -rA = 10.4167CA and - rA = 17.33 x 104 CAcl with Cs as concentration of organiC acid or base. The order of reaction with water is first order and with organic acid or base is third order
