Abstract: The safety assessment of the production of linear alkyl benzene in Kaduna refinery and petrochemicals company (KRPC) was done. Material and energy ballances across each unit were done. A hazard operabilitY. study of the molecular extraction (MOLEX) unit was done and remedial actions for the potential hazards Were given. The study also shows that the most probable kind of hazard associated with the MOLEX units is that of material and production time loss
