Title: KINETIC STUDY OF GLUCOSE FERMENTATION USING YEAST CELLS

Abstract: The kinetic study of glucose fermentation was carried out. Even though there are so many factors that affect microbial growth and survival which includes physical and chemical factors such as PH, temperature, concentration of substrate, biomass etc. In the course of the experiments varying amounts of yeast cells were used (OAg, O.6g, O.8g) to inoculate the substrate containing different concentrations of glucose (8g, 109, 12g) respectively. From the nine experiments carried out the medium with the best product yields were the ones with the medium amount of glucose and yeast O.6g yeast and 109 glucose even though they do it have the best biomass growth. This project shows that for fermentation to successfully take place the optimal or maximum conditions from biomass growth might not be the best for product formation.
