Title: NICKEL PLATING OF METALS

Abstract: The electroplating of some metals (steel, brass and copper) were done using -Nickel solution and pure Nickel anodes, the experiment was carried out at room temperature .with proper agitation varying voltage, current and time. The best condition for bright appearance for steel plaiting 3v,1.0v and 20mins. Brass plating are 3v, O.6A and lOmins. Coppcr plating arc 3v, O.5A and IOmins. The physical appearance and thickness was noted, they are subjected to various test and it was obtained that a thin coating is good to increase the harden ability, the strength, ductility and serve as decorative and protective function. A mathematical model was also formed using polymath 3, from the experimental result Nickel deposit was found to produce a variety of finishes.
