Title: CORROSION AND DEGREDATION OF CONCRETE MATERIAL INAGGRESIVE MEDIUM.

Abstract: The study of interaction of water and aggressive salts on cencrete material was carried out in other to analyze the mechanism of degradation of cencrete. The experiment was carried out by using 2M Solutions of Sodium Chloride, Magnessium Sulphate and, a Mixture of Barium Chloride and sodium chloride Solution. Concrete Mortars were made and Soaked in different aggressive salts media for a period of 28 days and the compressive strength was tested. The results showed that corrosion and degredation of cencrete material is accompanied by increase in the amount of the solid phase of the Cementitious material, crystallization and accumulation of the reaction products.
