Title: KINETICS OF ACID HVDROL YSIS OF CASSAVA STARCH TO PRODUCE GLUCOSE

Abstract: The kinetics of acid hydrolysis of cassava starch to produce Glucose was investigated. The hydrolysis takes place at different temperature of 60, 70, 80 and 90Gc using a solution of tetraoxosulphate (vi) acid (H2S04) at different I concentrations of 2.5M, 3.5M, and 5M. The production of glucose is found to increase with an increase in temperature and acid concentration as time increases. The hydrolysis rate follows, a First Order Kinetics with an Activation Energy of 20.52kj/g mole which is lower than the reported literature value of 25.5kj/g mole
