Abstract: _A _B _S .T.- -R -A1~1C- -T- -: A table-top juice extract01:l, ~las designed, constructed and tested. As basis, citrus fruit was considered, although the extra.ctor can equally extract :1u:i .. ces from fruits with high Juice-cake ratio greater than 1.0. !he Principle behind L if the ~xtractor is expression and "the force needed in .xtractio n is supplied by the unwinding ac~ion of nut and bolt. ,. Galvanised Steel sheet which is known to be resistant " to corrosion and acid attack was used in about 75% of the construction work, while mild s,teel is used in frame work only. The extractor was tested,with the following types of frui,/ Orange, Pineapple and !angerine and their yiel'S were calculated to be 68%, 79%' and i,84% respectively- The yield,) were found to be proportional to Juice-cake ratio of the tested f~uits which were 1 and, 2.0 and 2.3 respectivelyYield alsO increases by increasing the pressure applied, surface area of fruits (by c~:tting into smaller size before loading into the feed box). \
