Title: EFFECT OF MINERAL ADDITIVES ON SINTERING TEMPERATURE OF CEMENT RAW MIX

Abstract: The mineral· additives, Ferogeneous red which is a form of industrial by product from the iron and steel industry contains clinker compounds and invariably clinker minerals at early stage of formation The presence of micro additive in the composition of cement raw mix is capable of influencing positively the mineral formation process and ,the structure of the :final product which is of immense importance in energy conservation. The additive reduces the sintering temperature which also means reduction in energy spent during burning of raw mix and grinding of clinker in the cement mill. From the result or analysis, performed, it has been discovered that by using 0.65% of the mineral additive, the cost of production of cement has been reduced by #2.16 per bag of 50 kg based on 1996· material cost.
