Title: USE OF GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON FOR TREATMENT OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATERS.

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Granular activated carbon was used to treat wastewaters from Nigerian breweries and united textile Kaduna. The effect of mass of activated carbon and time on the efficiency of the wastewater treatment were also investigated. The results revealed that the level of removal of contaminants depends on both mass of carbon used and on time. Highet: level of pollutants removal was obtained with higher weight of ~1 1- carbon. One hour provided the best contact time for the removal of most of the pollutants within the experimental¬∑ specifications.
