|Abstract: ||This project work titled availability and use of information and communication technology (ICT) by legal practitioners in Minna Niger State. This work identify the information needs and use of legal practitioners, the available ICT facilities for the legal professionals, level of ICT accessibility by the legal professionals in Minna, information literacy skill and factors affecting the use of ICT by legal practitioners. To achieve the set objectives, relevant literatures were reviewed. The research work was carried out through the dissemination of well structured questionnaire which were directed to the legal practitioners. A random sampling technique was adopted to seek response from the population. A total numbers of one – hundred and fifty (150) copies of questionnaire were administered and one – hundred and twenty five (125) copies were duly filled and returned. Data collected were analyzed using table, frequency and percentage It indicated that majority of the legal practitioners are computer literate, showed that firms have various ICT facilities, access ICT facilities in their various firms to aid their work. It revealed that the legal practitioners utilize ICT to get relevant information in the constitution and area of specialization, for career development, and to keep abreast of current developments in law. However, in spite of the enormous advantages of ICT to the legal practitioners, there were some impediments to the effective use of ICT facilities. However, the study recommended that adequate provision should be made for ICT facilities to enable the legal practitioners have unrestricted access to a wide range of legal information to aid their work.|
